      SIKH worship SHABAD GURU, THE SPIRITUAL ENLIGHTENER in the sense of understanding the spiritual message and live that message in daily life. Physical body of NANAK was not the GURU, IT WAS THE BANI, SHABAD that came out of awakened consciousness of NANAK was the GURU that we worship.

      ਪੂਜਾ ਕੀਚੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਪੂਜ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥i – 489
      No worship of any physical Guru is allowed in Gurmat.
      Only worship of Akal Purkh through His Naam. i.e. Hukam, Truth and Shabad are allowed.
