ਲੰਗਰ ਆਮ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਤੇ ਚੌਕੜੀ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਛੱਕਣ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਥਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਤੇ ਚੌਕੜੀ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਬੈਠਣ ਵਿਚ ਅਸਮਰੱਥ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਕੁਰਸੀ ਆਦਿ ਤੇ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਛੱਕ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਦਾਸ ਦੀ ਸਮਝ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਲੰਗਰ ਛੱਕਣ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਥਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
According to my understanding, Langar is eaten while sitting on the ground as it is comfortable instead of standing. Langar is eaten together with everybody as a family and it reflects equality.
