      Respected Brother/Sister,

Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh!

In response to your question, the undersigned wants to say that healthy lifestyle in Sikhi encompasses physical, mental, and spiritual well-being, rooted in discipline and alignment with the teachings of the Gurus. Sikhi emphasizes maintaining a balanced life through physical activity, meditation (Naam Japna), selfless service (Nishkam Seva), ethical conduct, and mindful eating.

At the heart of Sikhi is the balance between deep spirituality and physical readiness. The ideal Sikh is a Sant-Sipahi (Saint-Soldier), someone who meditates on God but is physically strong, courageous, and equipped to protect the oppressed. Fitness is the physical manifestation of this readiness.

Physical fitness is deeply intertwined with Sikhi. The body is viewed as a sacred temple and a vehicle for spiritual growth. Sikhs are called to maintain their health as an act of gratitude to the Divine, staying active and disciplined enough to serve and protect the innocent.

      Guru Granth Sahib teaches us:

Guru Sahib guides that one should not get entirely lost in merely nurturing the body i.e. one should not focus too much on physical comforts, worldly desires, or material needs (like feeding and pampering the body) while potentially neglecting the spiritual or mental self.

Hope it helps. If you have any further questions, please do ask. If you find any deficiencies, please point out the same, for improvement in future.

      Regards,

      Your brother
