MY QUESTION : IS RAIN SAABAI KIRTAN ONLY DONE IN GURDWARA’S IN INDIA?
OR ALL OVER THE WORLD?
RAIN SAABAI KIRTAN is a practice started by some Sikh members with the intension of spreading the Gurbani message to larger audiences at night as SANGAT may have more time at night.
There is no reason to limit it to Gurduara Sahibs in India, or even the four walls of the Gurduara Sahib anywhere in the world. The message of Guru should be promoted at all places where possible.
But Sikhs must remember the intent behind it and not make it into a ritual. As most of the Sikhs now feel, going to Gurduara has become more of a ritual then a visit to the Guru for some lesson in Gurbani.
