On many occasions I have seen perfume sprayed on rumaala during Sukh Assan time .
Perfume has alcohol.
So why is this sprayed in the Gurdwara?

Thank you asking this very relevant question.
There is no such reference in Bani enshrined in Sri Guru Granth Sahib.
Sikhs respect Sri Guru Granth Sahib as the living Guru. Therefore, they all have their own way of showing respect. The real purpose of spraying perfume is to keep the air in the room smelling fresh.
Consumption of alcohol, and all other intoxicants is forbidden for they take one’s mind away from the NAAMU. As for there being alcohol in the perfume or even in quite few of the medicines it is not affecting one’s mind and taking it away from NAAMU.
Hope this helps.
