Did my great-grandfather possess supernatural abilities? He used secret Mantars for healing, and their origin is unknown. This practice was widespread in the past. I'm curious about the Mantars' origin, any associations with Devi Devte, and if there are any relevant sakhis. I'm not interested in learning them; I'm seeking historical and theological context.

Healing through Mantras is common practice in many religions. This is nothing but exploitation of innocent people. GURBANI completely reject this concept. GURU says AAP NAATH NATHI SABH JAKI RIDH SIDH AWRA SAAD meaning everything in the universe happen according to natural forces, laws of nature, HUKAM. Nothing ever happen in violation of the HUKAM. GURU says belief in such supernatural powers only take one away from spiritual path. Learn to live by surrendering to will of GOD, HUKAM IS SIKHI.,

The teachings of Guru Granth Sahib don’t subscribe to miracles and supernatural powers. One is expected to live life in Akalpurakh’s Hukam, earn an honest earning, remain connected with Akalpurakh and share earnings with have nots (Kirat Karo, Naam Japo, Wand Chhako) (ਕਿਰਤ ਕਰੋ, ਨਾਮ ਜਪੋ, ਵੰਡ ਛਕੋ). These are the fundamental principles of Sikhism.
