My most significant area for improvement lies in my self-control. Regrettably, I struggle to manage my actions despite being fully aware of the unfavorable outcomes they can lead to. This recurring pattern is a notable drawback in my behavior. I am earnestly seeking assistance to address this issue, as I am genuinely committed to making improvements. Your guidance would be highly appreciated.

Respected Brother/Sister
Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh!
In response to your question, the undersigned wants to say that, the condition in which you are in, Ardas to Akalpurakh for His blessings, to enable you to have control on yourself, can take you out of your present condition, because the Guru teaches us:-
The word Ardas appears in Guru Granth Sahib many times. The word Ardas is made from Persian word Arjdashat i.e. Arj + Dashat Arj means request (ਬੇਨਤੀ) and Dashat means to present (ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰਨਾ). Thus, Ardas is a request from a person/Sikh to Akalpurakh in which he/she shares his achievements/happiness or difficulties/shortcomings/sorrows with Him.
At Panna 103 of Guru Granth Sahib, the Fifth Guru Person, Guru Arjan Sahib says: ‘ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ which means that since Akalpurakh is my father, mother, every relation and protector everywhere, therefore, I have no cause to be worried.
Therefore, the Sikh always (in happy times or sad/hard times – ਦੁੱਖ ਹੋਵੇ ਜਾਂ ਸੁੱਖ, ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਹੋਵੇ ਜਾਂ ਗਮੀ) requests Akalpurakh for His blessings! To seek blessings of Akalpurakh, is the significance of Ardas.
Here, the undersigned will like to add that the Ardas to Akalpurakh, for His blessings (i.e. moral strength), should be matched with efforts by the individual to get rid of his/her shortcomings.
I hope that this helps. If you have any further questions, please do ask. If you find any deficiencies, please point out the same, for improvement in future.
Regards,
Your Brother
ਤੂ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਤੁਮ ਪਹਿ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥ ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਸਭੁ ਤੇਰੀ ਰਾਸਿ ॥ ਤੁਮ ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਹਮ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਤੇਰੇ ॥ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਮਹਿ ਸੂਖ ਘਨੇਰੇ ॥ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਜਾਨੈ ਤੁਮਰਾ ਅੰਤੁ ॥ ਊਚੇ ਤੇ ਊਚਾ ਭਗਵੰਤ ॥ ਸਗਲ ਸਮਗ੍ਰੀ ਤੁਮਰੈ ਸੂਤ੍ਰਿ ਧਾਰੀ ॥ ਤੁਮ ਤੇ ਹੋਇ ਸੁ ਆਗਿਆਕਾਰੀ ॥ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਗਤਿ ਮਿਤਿ ਤੁਮ ਹੀ ਜਾਨੀ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਸਦਾ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀ ॥੮॥੪॥ {ਪੰਨਾ 268}
