When did the tradition of separating men and women in sangat start? We say men and women are equal, but in gurdwaras they sit separately, while in langar halls they mix. What are your views on this?

      There is no tradition or requirement of men and women sitting seperately in the Gurdwara Sahib but it has been in vogue since long for unknown reasons.

      wjkk wjkf I heard from a singh that a reason behind men and women sitting separately in the darbar Hall, is also because of comfort, its seen as more comfortable for women to be sitting with women
