I think we are creating pollution in water by throwing the body in water, Cremating the body is neat and clean method

Per Sikhi after the physucal death, the air goes back into the air, the life goes back to its source, and earth (body) goes back into the earth (decomposes into elements). Nothing is left of the human after the physical death.

Some people think if they dispose of the body in the water it becomes a food for the fish. and that is better than just burning it. At the same time, if a body is burried in the ground, it becomes a food for the worms. Just an idividual preference.

In Sikhi, the process of the body going back to earth is of no consequence, Creamation, JAL PARWAH, leaving on a high place above ground for birds to feed, or even burriial without any marking, is a personal choice.

Example set by the unknown method of disposal of a dead body of Nanak Sahib is very important point to be noted.

Since cremation entails pollution of air and wastage of natural resources ie wood, Ghee and other ritualistic items called Samagree, we may adopt any suitable method for the disposal of the dead body.
Electric crematorium may be the most ethical way if available.

Also, the last ritual of a person of Sikh religion, after death, should not be handled by a Hindoo Pundit at all.
