I am unable to find a reference to MATHHA TAEKNA in Guru Granth Sahib Bani.
MATHHA TAEKNA is a cultural way of expressing acceptance of the wisdom of Sri Guru Granth Sahib over one’s own.
The same is expressed by followers of other faiths in Indian culture. There is no contradiction here.

GURU says TANN MANN GURPEH WECHIA MANN DIA SIRR NAAL (PAGE 20) meaning now onward I have made commitment to live my life according to DIVINE WISDOM AND TEACHINGS OF THE GURU, i am sold myself to the GURU. Bowing to SGGSJI is to make commitment to drop my ego and my mind identification and listen to WISDOM OF THE GURU. I do not think we can say same thing when bowing to IDOL. What wisdom one get from there. GURBANI reject IDOL WORSHIP..

MATHHA TAEKNA is a commitment to the transformation of Manmukh to Gurmukh.
