Every thing is decided according to our deeds and actions at physical and mental level.
What ever we think and do, various chemicals are produced in our body. All these chemicals processes. further affect our physical and mental processes.
Akal Purkh has automatically made the system which keeps on deciding our deeds all the time.
This is just an example from the present day science. However there may be many such modes of monitoring.
I agree with answer above. GURBANI does not believe that one face consequences of actins done in past life in the present life. We face consequences of our actions here and now. It is wrong to blame some one,s poverty on his actions of the past life. KARMA THEORY is escape from societal responsibility..
