No please. Gatra is a support system, to initiated Sikhs, to keep their Kirpan, on their body, in a sheath, for use at the time of need. Some Sikhs keep their Kirpan in their belt and do not wear Gatra. There is no comparison possible in Janeu and Gatra because the Janeu is different for different castes in Hindus and Brahmin only can put it on a person’s body, after reading mantras. The Shudras have no right to wear a Janeu. Hope it helps.
