Great question. I need to be brief. According to SPIRITUAL PHILOSOPHY OF NANAK , SGGSJI IS THE WORDS OF DEVINE WISDOM UTTERED BY GURU NANAK, OTHER GURUS AND SAINTS. GURU. Nanak called SHABAD GURU. These SHABADS, WORDS OF DEVINE WISDOM, COLLECTIVELY are called BANI. Extremely important to understand that GURU here not physical being or a teacher but the DEVINE WORDS . As Sikhs we worship SGGSJI, THE SHABAD GURU. BANI GURU GURU HAI BANI WICH BANI AMRIT SARAI meaning the words of wisdom written in text of SGGSJI is the enlightening GURU, that transform human consciousness. Gurbani does not believe in any external supernatural DEITY OR GOD. SGGSJI IS OUR GURU, OUR GOD ALLAH OR BHAGWAN. There are books written on this subject . Hope your question is answered.
SGGSahib holds all the documents and experience of the Gurus , bhagats ,Bhatt etc They all have given the information of what is god and how to meet god and how to walk into ur internal journey That is the reason SGGS is a universal Granth and a universal teacher
