The purpose of stories or history is to learn something good. If Sakhi is historical and related to Guru Sahib, then that should be true and must conform to the teachings of Guru Granth Sahib.
ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ ੩ ॥ ਬਾਬਾਣੀਆ ਕਹਾਣੀਆ ਪੁਤ ਸਪੁਤ ਕਰੇਨਿ ॥ ਜਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੁ ਮੰਨਿ ਲੈਨਿ ਸੇਈ ਕਰਮ ਕਰੇਨਿ ॥ (੯੫੧)
However, if the Sakhi is not true and is fabricated one, then it should be clearly mentioned as a story, without involving the name of any Guru Sahib or any person, so that we do not distort the history.
We should refrain from such fabricated stories and try to learn from the teachings of Guru Granth Sahib
