In Sikhism everything happens according to Hukam. Then why do we pray?

Because practically we don’t accept hukam.
When we pray, our ego starts reducing. When our ego starts reducing, we start listening to the Shabad Guru. This inturn helps in understanding and following the Hukam of Akal Purkh.
