Let us define what is GURU. According to spiritual philosophy of NANAK GURU IS SHABAD, BANI, DEVINE WISDOM, ENLIGHTNER. It is mistake to take physical body (SAREER) as GURU. GURU is eternal , SAREER is mortal. THE SHABAD, BANI that came from NANAK WAS GURU NOT SAREER OF NANAK. IN THAT SENCE GURU AND WAHEGURU ARE SAME.
the guru’s came through a mother’s womb but waheguru or god does not come through a mother’s womb as explained in the mool mantra Yes but it is said that the guru were evolved souls who became like god and we all human beings can also be like god if we walk on the path of truthful living and become sachyar
No, not at all.
Word Waheguru in Bhatt Bani was used to praise the Gurbani authored by the Fourth and other Gurus.
This word is now being confused as the name of the Sikh concept of God, and even our Ardas also invokes Waheguru the Akal Purukh !!
This adultration has come about based upon Bhai Gurdas Var 1 Pauri 49, in which he authored this word by taking the first alphabets of God Vishnu and his Avtars Hari Kishan, Govind and Ram.
The Neesan of ੴ given by Nanak Sahib denotes the Almighty, and which is traditionally pronounced as Ikoankar, though its correct pronunciation given by the Gurus themselves is ਏਕੰਕਾਰ।
।।ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰ ਏਕੰਕਾਰੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਭੁ ਜਗਤ ਜਿਨ ਉਪਾਇਆ।।

Also
।।ਏਕੋ ਤਖਤ ਏਕੋ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ।।ਸਰਬੀ ਥਾਈ ਵੇਪਰਵਾਹੁ।।
।।ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਕੀਆ ਤਿਭਵਣ ਸਾਰ।।ਉਹ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਏਕੰਕਾਰੁ।।
ਮਹਲਾ 1, 1188
We should correct this abrasion and start using the word ਏਕੰਕਾਰੁ for Ardas and for all other aspects connected to the Sikh God.
In Gurbani no qualities of Waheguru are enumerated which we are supposed to imbibe, but the qualities of ੴ ie ਏਕੰਕਾਰੁ are given out on the very first page of Gurbani Granth Sahib.
