I don’t want to continue as Amritdhari. I don’t think it’s necessary to wear Kirpan and Kanga. Would I be punished?

      Most important is to understand and follow Gurbani written in Guru Granth Sahib.
      All the 5 Kakars have some purpose behind that.
      Hair teach us to follow the Hukam of Akal Purkh.
      Kirpan is for self protection at any time of need.
      Kanga is to keep our hair clean.
      Kara is constant reminder to follow the teachings of Gurbani.
      Kashihra reminds us to control the Sins.

      Guru is kind loving and forgiving. And is against any kind of ritualism. If you decide to wear the kirlan do it with love for the Guru who wants us to wear kirpan ad it is a symbol of sovereignty. He made us free and sovereign human beings. If you don’t want to be sovereign and free it is your choice. But for God’s sake don’t wear Kirpan ad a ritual or for fear of punishment. Goru is kind and loving not punishing or revengeful
