In the undersigned’s opinion, the anger of the parents will, perhaps, be temporary and in due course of time they will cool down. Therefore, for the time being you be with your partner and at the same time, try your best to keep your relationship with parents as well. Pray to Akalpurakh so that the relationships get normalised and you are out of stress. May Akalpurakh bless all with a positive sense!
Just believe that you are on the right path and you need to convince your parents about your choice. Time will heal everything and they will be fine when they will see you happy in the future. May Almighty be with you always and guide your path.
Two options before parents:
(1) if their opposition is based on the criteria of so called caste of the girl, then they are wrong as Guru Saheb has totally condemned this : ( srigranth.org – 15) ਸਿਰੀਰਾਗੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ॥ ,,,,
ਨੀਚਾ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਨੀਚ ਜਾਤਿ ਨੀਚੀ ਹੂ ਅਤਿ ਨੀਚੁ ॥
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਾਥਿ ਵਡਿਆ ਸਿਉ ਕਿਆ ਰੀਸ ॥
ਜਿਥੈ ਨੀਚ ਸਮਾਲੀਅਨਿ ਤਿਥੈ ਨਦਰਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਬਖਸੀਸ ॥੪॥੩॥
(2) If their decision is based on the facts that girl’s mind is groomed in environment contrary to the teachings of Guru Saheb, then they may be right. For living a blissful social life consensus between couple is MUST about the fundamental doctrines of Gurmat.
