How can I balance my natural human emotions with the concept of Hukam in Sikhi? Can I experience these emotions while living within Hukam? How does SGGS guide us in doing that?

This is complex question. Here is simple answer. HUKM means we face consequences of our actions here and now. This is the law of nature. Our actions come from our thought process, SANSKARS. First thoughts that leads to action and then emotions. Living with HUKM means our thoughts are aligned with GURMAT, SIKHI. This means our thoughts and emotions are all positive. Yes we have emotions but not harmful, negative. Hope this help.
Respected Nikki Kaur ji,
Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh!
In response to your question, respected learned brother Kandola Sahib has already given a very brief and appropriate reply.
The undersigned just wants you to read the following Tuk of Rahao, of a Shabad of Third Guru Person Guru Amardas Sahib in Siri Rag, which is located at Panna 26 of Guru Granth Sahib. The meanings are also given below for your perusal.
You wil observe that Guru Sahib is addressing the mind (ਮਨ) and guiding us that while living in the family (doing all duties with sincerity and emotions) keep self-control (ਸੰਜਮ) and without over indulging in the material world (ਮਾਇਆ), remain one with Akalpurakh and Shabad Guru, who are embodiment of each other, so as to maintain abstinence from the vices (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ ਸੰਕੋਚ). The Guru Sahib is teaching us to learn this art of remaining one with Akalpurakh and Shabad Guru, while living in the family because this is a worth learning skill (ਕਰਨ-ਜੋਗ ਕੰਮ)
Hope it helps. If you have any further questions, please do ask. If you find any deficiencies, please point out the same, for improvement in future.
Regards,
Your Brother
