Respected Harv Singh Ji
The most unique and different thing in Sikhism is that Guru Nanak Sahib Ji has given us the principle of one. Connected with an Akal Purakh. For centuries man has been worshiping gods and goddesses, animals and birds and sun, moon, etc. but Guru Sahib has taken us out of all these folk rituals and Has connected us to One God that is jyot and within all of us.
In Sikhism, there is no caste, religion, color, language, rich or poor, no such distinction. All are equal.
ਏਕੁ ਪਿਤਾ ਏਕਸ ਕੇ ਹਮ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਤੂ ਮੇਰਾ ਗੁਰ ਹਾਈ।।(611)
Meaning we are all children of the same Akal Purakh.
Guru Sahib has made the Sikhs Kirti. One has to work and share one’s honesty.
There are golden principles of Sikhism.
Work hard with honesty, Chant the name of Akaal Purakh and, Share.
You have to distribute not only your earnings but also your merits.
All kinds of drugs are forbidden in Sikhism. Guru Sahib has blessed very valuable teachings.
We have to try to follow the path shown by Guru Sahib Ji.
Respected Harv Singh Ji,
I totally agree with Mandeep Kaur Ji. I would like to add another unique thing about Sikhism. The bani of Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji teaches us to win our own mind and become triumphant in the game of life.
ਮਨ ਜੀਤੇ ਜੱਗ ਜੀਤ
By attaining divine virtues, annihilating vices, and living life according to the Hukam one can attain salvation while living and is called Jeevan Mukt.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਆਤਮ ਹਿਤਾਵੈ ॥
One who, in his soul, loves the Will of God,
ਜੀਵਨ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਸੋਊ ਕਹਾਵੈ ॥
is said to be Jivan Mukta – liberated while yet alive.
