Very interesting question. Guru says
AGGS 515
Wah Wah Bani Nirankar Hai Tis Jevadd Avar N Koe ||
Waho! The Word (Bani) is the Formless God. There is no other as great as God.
AGGS 283
Roop N Rekh N Rang Kich Trih Gunn Te Prabh Bhin || Tisehi Bujhae Nanaka Jis Hovai Suprasan ||1||
God has no form, no shape, no color; God is beyond the three qualities of Maya. Nanak says they alone understand God who gets wisdom from Bani (Guru).
Then Guru says
AGGS 1427
Ghat Ghat Mai Har Ju Basai Santan Kehiou Pukar ||
The Guru proclaims that the God abides in each and everyone.
Creator God is the Virtues in Guru’s spiritual teachings (Bani), and abides in everyone. God is not judgmental. Accepting will of God and loving Its Creation, is to love God Itself. We can meet our Creator in this life by renunciation of ego and evils and living a perfect truthful life according to the teachings of the Guru.

Great question. When GURU NANAK was asked who is your GURU. His answer was very clear, my GURU is SHABAD. SHABAD is whole of BANI contained in SGGSJI. According to spiritual philosophy of NANAK , SHABAD AND GOD are discussed in the same context.
