Out of respect ji.
Turban is a sign of dignity and one must maintain his dignity. Turban was worn by most of the people and from most of the religions. It was a symbol of respect. With the influence of fashion and propaganda people have stopped wearing turban. Sikhs have continued the respect for hair and wearing turban. Even there is praise for the turban of Akal Purkh in Guru Granth Sahib.

We have to cover our head not only in the Gurdwara Sahib, but also whenever we go out.
Protection of hair, head and dignity is very important. The dead hair keeps on falling and the live hair remain intact. Hair if goes in the body with food can be very harmful. Hence, precautions must be taken to avoid their spreading.
