I would like to inquire about how to train one’s mind to stop hating or disliking someone. Despite wanting to move on and leave everything to God, I find myself struggling to do so due to my negative feelings towards certain individuals. In relation to this, I would also like to ask if hating someone is considered a sin in Sikhism. Thank you for your time and assistance.

Respected Michelle Mone ji,
Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh!
In response to your question, the undersigned wants to say that, as understood by the undersigned, as a Sikh, as per the teachings of our ever living Guru, Guru Granth Sahib, we need to see God in everyone. In other words, no enemies and all friends. Please be kind to read the following Shabad of Fifth Guru Person, Guru Arjun Sahib and it’s meanings:-
ਕਾਨੜਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ਬਿਸਰਿ ਗਈ ਸਭ ਤਾਤਿ ਪਰਾਈ ॥ ਜਬ ਤੇ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਪਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਨਾ ਕੋ ਬੈਰੀ ਨਹੀ ਬਿਗਾਨਾ ਸਗਲ ਸੰਗਿ ਹਮ ਕਉ ਬਨਿ ਆਈ ॥੧॥ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀਨੋ ਸੋ ਭਲ ਮਾਨਿਓ ਏਹ ਸੁਮਤਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਤੇ ਪਾਈ ॥੨॥ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਏਕੈ ਪੇਖਿ ਪੇਖਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਿਗਸਾਈ ॥੩॥੮॥ {ਪੰਨਾ 1299}
KAANRAA, FIFTH MEHL: I have totally forgotten my jealousy of others, since I found the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. || 1 || Pause || No one is my enemy, and no one is a stranger. I get along with everyone. || 1 || Whatever God does, I accept that as good. This is the sublime wisdom I have obtained from the Holy. || 2 || The One God is pervading in all. Gazing upon Him, beholding Him, Nanak blossoms forth in happiness. || 3 || 8 ||
Further, the Guru teaches us in Saloks of Baba Fareed:-
ਫਰੀਦਾ ਬੁਰੇ ਦਾ ਭਲਾ ਕਰਿ ਗੁਸਾ ਮਨਿ ਨ ਹਢਾਇ ॥ ਦੇਹੀ ਰੋਗੁ ਨ ਲਗਈ ਪਲੈ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਪਾਇ ॥੭੮॥ {ਪੰਨਾ 1382}
Fareed, answer evil with goodness; do not fill your mind with anger. Your body shall not suffer from any disease, and you shall obtain everything. || 78 ||
Hope it helps. If you have any further questions, please do ask. If you find any deficiencies, please point out the same, for improvement in future.
Regards,
Your Brother
