HAS THE GURU GRANTH SAHIB JI BEEN TRANSULATED INTO OTHER LANGUAGES?
I WAS LISTENING TO THE KATHA ON THE TV WHEN THIS QUESTION POPPED IN MY MIND.
Guru Granth Sahib has been transcribed and translated into other languages starting with English and Spanish. The efforts are underway to translate it into other languages as well.
Please note: There is hardly any good way to translate the words and the spirit of the message written in one language into another language. There is a lot of meaning and implications associated with / assigned to the word in the original language that are just about impossible to express in other languages. Try to translate the word Guru into English and one finds it translated as Master, Teacher, Expert, etc. but none can capture the entire reverence of the word Guru in Punjabi.
To better understand the wisdom of Guru Granth Sahib, it would be better for the reader to learn to read and speak Punjabi.
Great knowledge.
Since this is a very simple and noncontroversial question, there was no need to hide your name please.
Basi ji has given a very detailed and complete answer.
On the other hand, the Japuji Sahib has been translated in about 10 Indian languages and some European languages.
