Is it appropriate for the Golak to be positioned in front of Guru Granth Sahib Ji? I am seeking the Sangat's perspective on the possibility of relocating the Golak to another place. Your thoughts on this matter would be greatly appreciated. What are your insights?

      ਦਾਸ ਦੀ ਸਮਝ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਗੋਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਧਰੇ ਵੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਜੋ ਹਾਲਾਤ ਬਣੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਸੰਗਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਹਿਸਾਬ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ ਭੇਟ ਕਰਨੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਨਾਂਹ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਰੁਕਣ ਤੇ ਨਾਂਹ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬੈਂਕਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਰੱਖ ਸਕਣ ਜਾਂ ਬਰਬਾਦ ਕਰ ਸਕਣ। ਇਹ ਵਿਸ਼ਾ ਇੱਕ ਦੀਰਘ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਮੰਗਦਾ ਹੈ।

      I do not see any benefit of placing GOLAK anywhere else in GURDWARA. It is convenient for every one where it is now.

      It really doesn’t matter where we keep the Golak.

      There is no word DasWand in Guru Granth Sahib. The following Shabad of Guru Nanak Sahib is
      ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ ੧ ॥ ਗਿਆਨ ਵਿਹੂਣਾ ਗਾਵੈ ਗੀਤ ॥ ਭੁਖੇ ਮੁਲਾਂ ਘਰੇ ਮਸੀਤਿ ॥ ਮਖਟੂ ਹੋਇ ਕੈ ਕੰਨ ਪੜਾਏ ॥ ਫਕਰੁ ਕਰੇ ਹੋਰੁ ਜਾਤਿ ਗਵਾਏ ॥ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੀਰੁ ਸਦਾਏ ਮੰਗਣ ਜਾਇ ॥ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਮੂਲਿ ਨ ਲਗੀਐ ਪਾਇ ॥ ਘਾਲਿ ਖਾਇ ਕਿਛੁ ਹਥਹੁ ਦੇਇ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਰਾਹੁ ਪਛਾਣਹਿ ਸੇਇ ॥੧॥ {੧੨੪੫}
      This Shabad is for those have made Dharam as their source of income. Guru Nanak Sahib advised that, they should work themselves and share a part of their income. In this Shabad it is clearly advised to earn by our own efforts and to share a part of that for the welfare of mankind. Though Daswand {10%} have been used in historical contents. But this Shabad does not specify any number and neither any specific organization. It is our duty to see that our contribution is used for a good cause. Best is to give directly to the needy one. There is no use of giving blindly to the thankless people. Not only financial help, help can be of other types like Gurmat education, General education, proper guidance, Naam, Hukam, Respect for nature, etc.
      ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਧੂੜਿ ਮੰਗੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਕੀ ਜੋ ਆਪਿ ਜਪੈ ਅਵਰਹ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਾਵੈ ॥੨॥ – 306

      There is no word WandChakna in Guru Granth Sahib. This is self-created. Wand means, if there are 2 persons, then share as 50%. if 4 then 25% each, if 100 then 1% each, and so on. This is practically impossible when number is large. Historically Dhaswand was common, I e. 10% contribution for the welfare, which seems to be practical.
      Please note that any type of donation is not going to help unless it is analysed properly and is for a good cause.
      ਅਕਲੀ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸੇਵੀਐ ਅਕਲੀ ਪਾਈਐ ਮਾਨੁ ॥ ਅਕਲੀ ਪੜਿੑ ਕੈ ਬੁਝੀਐ ਅਕਲੀ ਕੀਚੈ ਦਾਨੁ ॥ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਆਖੈ ਰਾਹੁ ਏਹੁ ਹੋਰਿ ਗਲਾਂ ਸੈਤਾਨੁ ॥੧॥ {੧੨੪੫}
      We can improve our health by raising our mental level with the help of Gurbani written in Guru Granth Sahib.
      ਤੀਰਥੁ ਤਪੁ ਦਇਆ ਦਤੁ ਦਾਨੁ ॥ ਜੇ ਕੋ ਪਾਵੈ ਤਿਲ ਕਾ ਮਾਨੁ ॥ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਕੀਤਾ ਭਾਉ ॥ ਅੰਤਰਗਤਿ ਤੀਰਥਿ ਮਲਿ ਨਾਉ ॥ {੪}
      Though many people say as Guru Ke Golak. But please note that Guru Sahib never comes to open this Golak. The money is controlled by the managing Committee. If they are good, it is OK. Otherwise, this can be misused also. Golak is kept in front of Guru Granth Sahib, so that more amount can be collected from the public. In fact, it should not be kept in front of Guru Granth Sahib. This can be kept at the entrance or any other suitable place.
