LIKE ART WORK IN OTHER RELIGIOUS PLACES HAS GREAT IMPORTANCE.
The core of Sikhi centers will always remain Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
But Art and architecture are an essential part of any society and so is with Sikhs also. The architecture of Gurdwaras is unique as it is always designed to Keep Guru Granth sahib Ji at a central place in the main hall. No Gurdwara is considered complete without proper kitchen and sitting arrangement for langar. This makes Gurdwara altogether different from other religious places. Bigger Gurdwaras have a lodging place to stay for a few days, a library, etc. Unlike other religious places, Gurdwara is not merely a worshipping center but a community center and learning school.
Even bigger Gurdwaras have museums, where paintings depicting important historical events are placed.
All this is possible because Gurdwaras does support the unique Art of binding the community.
