Devta means giver. In this way, a different myth was given to each deity giving a divine gift. Someone became a creator, someone a follower and someone a killer. But Gurbani’s Hukam is
ਦੇਵੀ ਦੇਵਾ ਮੂਲ ਹੈ ਮਾਇਆ।।(129)
The powers of Akal Purakh are understood by human beings, gods and goddesses. While all of them are under the Hukam of that God Himself.
ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੇ ਦੇਵੀ ਸਭਿ ਦੇਵਾ।।(227)
That is, those who are themselves slaves of Maya and are under the Hukam of God, what can they give to another? So in Gurbani we are only explained about one and only Akal Purakh. The whole universe is under His Hukam then let us also be under his Hukam. Let us read and understand Gurbani ourselves and live our life according to the golden principles of Gurbani.
