Covering heard is a cultural way of showing respect to the Guru. This is also done when appearing in front of one’s elders etc.
Another act: Bowing to the entity one respects, like Guru Granth Sahib ji in a Gurduara, is a cultural way of expressing one’s respect for that entity / authority. It also expresses that one respect the wisdom of the Guru Granth Sahib Ji (or to whoever one bows) over one’s own.
As per Gurbani all these acts have a value when the intent behind is as intended. Just covering one’s head because one has been told has no value, whereas covering one’s head out of respect for Guru Granth Sahib ji has all the value of giving in to Gur Sahibs wisdom.
Great????
