it’s a symbol of respect towards guru Sahibji
Turban was worn by most of the people and from most of the religions.
It was a symbol of respect. With the influence of fashion and propaganda people have stopped wearing turban. Sikhs have continued the respect for hair and wearing turban. Even there is praise for the turban of Akal Purkh in Guru Granth Sahib.
ਖੂਬੁ ਤੇਰੀ ਪਗਰੀ ਮੀਠੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਬੋਲ ॥ – 727
We have to cover our head not only in the Gurdwara Sahib, but also whenever we go out.
Protection of hair and head is very important.
