Good question. I am unable to find a dircect reference to such a refernce in Gurbani.
However, Sikhi considers the human body to be gift of the Creator .
ਅਲਹ ਰਾਮ ਕੇ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਪਰਾਨ ॥੪॥(ਮ:੫, ਪੰ:੧੧੩੬)
And to keep it in the form bestowed upon us. The use of medicine and even surgery to keep the body healthy appears to be acceptable.
The main focus is to do all that will keep one connected witht the ੴ , THE ONE, and do not do anything that will take one away from the ੴ , THE ONE.
It is not the act, but the intention behind it that matters in Sikhi.
