Thank you Ramandeep Kaur Ji for asking this question

There isn’t any reference in Satguru Granth Sahib Ji or Rehit Maryada about this

My personal opinion is that, you aren’t commiting anything wrong to keep your face the way you want

      1 ਓ Bliss!!

Unfortunately as Sikhs we are so engrossed in these little things, not concentrating on the message. SIKHI is not in which way one scrub the face. SIKHI is in living the teachings of SGGSJI.

A Sikh is supposed to know and follow the Hukam of Akal Purkh as described in Guru Granth Sahib.

      ਹੁਕਮਿ ਰਜਾਈ ਚਲਣਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਨਾਲਿ ॥੧॥ Jap – 1

The body system also works according to his Hukam and system. We should take care of our body and protect it from any harmful chemicals. Unless some process have not been tested since long, we should try to avoid that. We should not follow the advertisement blindly. However, in case of emergency decision can be taken accordingly.
