ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ:-
ਬਾਬਾ ਹੋਰੁ ਖਾਣਾ ਖੁਸੀ ਖੁਆਰੁ ॥ ਜਿਤੁ ਖਾਧੈ ਤਨੁ ਪੀੜੀਐ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਚਲਹਿ ਵਿਕਾਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਦੇ ਖਾਣ ਨਾਲ ਸਰੀਰ ਰੋਗੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ (ਭੀ ਕਈ) ਮੰਦੇ ਖ਼ਿਆਲ ਤੁਰ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਣ ਨਾਲ ਖ਼ੁਆਰ ਹੋਈਦਾ ਹੈ।1। ਰਹਾਉ।
ਤੁਸੀਂ ਦੇਖ ਸਕਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸਮਝਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਸਿੱਖ/ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਚੀਜ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਖਾਣੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਸਰੀਰ ਰੋਗੀ ਹੋਵੇ ਜਾਂ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਭੈੜੇ ਖਿਆਲ ਆਉਣ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜਿਸ ਸਿੱਖ/ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਡੇ ਖਾਣ ਨਾਲ ਸਰੀਰਕ ਜਾਂ ਮਾਨਸਿਕ ਪ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਾਨੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ, ਉਹ ਖਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।

You can see under the heading ‘Amrit Sanskar’ that eating ‘Kutha (Halal meat i.e. meat prepared in Muslim way)’ is prohibited. Why? No one knows because no reason is given. There is no restriction on eating eggs.
