As a Sikh man undergoing surgery, can you keep your Patka/dastaar on, or do you have to remove it, and put whatever cap-like thing they give you instead?

Very good question Gurmeet Singh Ji. Sikhi is all about Truthful life which is way beyond rituals and doubts. Guru Nanak always talked of not to be swayed by the rituals. Removing patka, dastar and putting on cap during surgery is OK.

The egg of doubt has burst; my mind has been enlightened.
The Guru has shattered the shackles of doubt, (rituals), and has set me free.
