Respected Tejpal ji,
Waheguru ji ka Khalsa, Waheguru ji ki Fateh!
In response to your question, the undersigned wants to say that Sikhism has nothing to do with Hindu mythology , though in Guru Granth Sahib, Hindu mythological stories have been used by Guru Sahib as example to educate Sikhs of concepts of Sikhi.
The Sikhism subscribes to the theory of One God i.e. Akalpurakh whose definition has been given in the beginning of Guru Granth Sahib as:-
If you have any further questions please do ask. If you find any deficiencies please point out the same for improvement in future.
Regards,
Your Brother

As per Indian constitution, Sikhi is sect of Hindu religion and culture. I live in Canada, as per Canadian constitution, I have independent Sikh religion, in Canadian culture. So religion, culture, social norms and lifestyle, are impacting you as you are living your life. How do you want to live your life?? As a Sikh, IkOnkar is our only focus so only accept IkOnkar and nothing else. Show respect to everyone, always keep IkOnkar in your mind and body. Don’t argue with people who think Sikhi is sect of Hindu religion and culture.
