Are Sikhs permitted to own idols?

In response to your question, the undersigned wants to say that there is no place for worship of images and statues in Sikhism. A Sikh being an antiquities dealer is not a problem. However, while dealing with idols, he has to be absolutely clear that, as per teachings of Guru Granth Sahib, Guru ka Shabad is Guru ki Moorti (Idol) and he is required to change his life, as per teachings of Guru Granth Sahib, get rid of vices and achieve emancipation/ salvation in this life time itself.

The undersigned is just quoting two Pangtis from Guru Granth Sahib, which make it absolutely clear what is stated above.

ਪਦਅਰਥ: ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਮੂਰਤਿ = ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ = ਰੂਪ ਮੂਰਤੀ। ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਧਿਆਨੁ = ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ = ਰੂਪ ਮੂਰਤੀ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ। ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ = ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ। ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ = ਨਾਮ = ਮੰਤ੍ਰ। ਮਾਨ = ਮੰਨਦਾ ਹੈ। ਰਿਦੈ = ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ। ਲੈ = ਲੈ ਕੇ। ਧਾਰਉ = ਧਾਰਉਂ, ਮੈਂ ਧਾਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।੧।
