Is it okay and inclined with the beliefs of Sikhism to smoke non-nicotine vapes. I am aware that alcohol and smoking are prohibited due to their addictive nature and drug content, as well as their adverse side effects (both psychological and physical) however what about non-nicotine vapes. These are proven to be non-addictive and not toxic hence in a way it would be like breathing flavoured air.
The reason I’m asking is recently I’ve noticed various amounts of Sikh youth vaping and want to believe that they are using non nicotine vapes, however I am not sure if even these are allowed. I hope the kids these days are staying away from nicotine vapes as these would definetely be prohibited as they are drugs.
So, long story short: Are vapes that have zero nicotine content allowed to be used Sikhs, seeing as they are non-toxic and non-addictive.

ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਲੰਬਾ ਨਾਂਹ ਲਿੱਖ ਕੇ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇਕ ਤੁੱਕ ਦਾ ਮੂਲ ਪਾਠ ਤੇ ਅਰਥ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ। ਅਰਥ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੜ੍ਹਨਾ ਤੇ ਵਿਚਾਰਨਾ।
ਇਹ ਹੁਣ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸੋਚਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ, ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ਾਂ ਵਿਚ, ਝੱਲੇ (ਮੂਰਖ) ਬਣ ਕੇ ਔਗੁਣਾਂ/ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਫੱਸ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਬਰਬਾਦ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਚਰਨ ਉੱਚਾ ਚੁੱਕ ਕੇ, ਔਗੁਣਾਂ/ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਹੋਣਾ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਜੀਵਨ ਮੁਕਤ ਹੋਣਾ ਹੈ? ਫ਼ੈਸਲਾ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜੀਵਨ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੈ। ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਅੱਗੇ ਕੋਈ ਸਵਾਲ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਹੈ।

In the ultimate analysis, Guru Sahib is teaching us not to get into any kind of vices whatsoever. Rather, we are being advised to get rid of the vices , build up our character and achieve salvation in this life itself, which is a valuable gift from Akalpurakh.

ਹੇ ਝੱਲੇ ਜੀਵ! ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੂੰ (ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ) ਆਇਆ ਹੈਂ ਤਿਵੇਂ (ਇਥੋਂ) ਚਲਾ ਭੀ ਜਾਵੇਂਗਾ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਤਿਵੇਂ ਮੌਤ ਭੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਇਗੀ (ਇਥੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਹਾਲਤ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਬੈਠ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿਣਾ) । ਜਿਉਂ ਜਿਉਂ ਤੂੰ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਰਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਭੋਗ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤਿਉਂ ਤਿਉਂ ਉਤਨਾ ਹੀ (ਤੇਰੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਤੇ ਆਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ) ਦੁੱਖ-ਰੋਗ ਚੰਬੜ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। (ਇਹਨਾਂ ਭੋਗਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਸਾਰ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਚੱਕਰ ਵਿਚ ਪਿਆ ਸਮਝ।1।
