It is their choice. There is nothing ordered in Sikhism.
Though, it is not laid down in Sikhism that women should wear Dastar and it is their choice but wearing Dastar by both the sexes is like wearing a crown given by Guru Sahib and earns respect from one and all. It also gives a separate identity to Sikhs, which otherwise is not possible. If women wear Dastar and also other Kakars as well then they will definitely be more safe in these hard and harsh times.
As Ramneetji said there are such order in SIKHI. We want to let our youth know that many such restrictions are imposed by ignorant of GURMAT PRINCIPLES and should be ignored.
Sister, the first thing is to take care of the cases. It is not necessary to tie a turban according to Sikh Rehat maryada.
The turban is a crown which is blessed by our Guru, it is the woman’s choice whether she wants to decorate the turban or cover her head with chunni, with this one case is taken care of and the other case is protected from dust and dirt, Guru. Sahib has not said anywhere that only brothers can wear turban, here he has given equal status to women too
