I had been to a wedding which took place at amritvela, and had been told that anand karaj at amritvela was a thing in puratan times and the whole idea of phere having to happen before 12pm was a thing introduced later to make marriage easier

In earlier times, the Anand Karaj used to take place, in Amritvela because it is a peaceful time and the diversions are minimal. The practice was to recite he Asa Ki Var and complete the Anand Karaj before the worldly diversions occupied the mind. These days it is more of noise and show business instead of being a pious ceremony. It, therefore, doesn’t matter if is carried out before 12 O’ Clock or later.
