You have asked a question as to what is Guru Sahib trying to say in the Pangti ‘
This Tuk is from 21st Pauri of Jap Baani and is located at Panna 4 of Guru Granth Sahib. As understood by the undersigned, Guru Sahib is describing the limitlessness (ਬੇਅੰਤਤਾ) of Akalpurakh and smallness of we, the human beings, and is guiding us that without His benevolence, the human beings can’t have any virtues to do any meditation. In a way Guru Sahib is teaching us utmost humility.
The fact of the matter is that as long as Akalpurakh, sitting inside us, gives strength, our body and all the faculties function and once the strength is withdrawn, we become dead bodies. He (or inner voice) sitting inside us, guides us to be on the right path and become Gurmukhs but many of us don’t listen to the inner voice. Rather, we listen to our (ਮਨ) mind and go on the wrong path and become Manmukhs, resulting in wastage of the valuable life given by Him.
So, we should pray to Him for virtues and be on the right path, to be one with Akalpurakh and Shabad Guru, who are embodiment of each other, live a disciplined life, get rid of vices and achieve emancipation/salvation In this life itself (ਜੀਵਨ ਮੁਕਤ).
Hope it helps. If you have any further questions, please do ask. If you find any deficiencies, please point out the same, for improvement in future.
Regards,
Your Brother

Nirbhau Singhji this is cardinal principle of SIKHI. GURU says here that one can perform all kinds of rituals, religious practices but without realizing and becoming the divine virtues , compassion, kindness. love , tolerance, humility , one can not be SACHIARA, GOOD HUMAN and enjoy inner peace, ANAND.
Guru Nanak Sahib ji very well explains in his bani that real veneration is accruing good virtues and performing good deeds. Doing good deeds give inner confidence and inner strength. Your inner self tells you that you are on the right path and you feel confident about yourself.
