ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਸਵਾਲ ਹੈ। ਦੱਸ ਦੇਈਏ ਕਿ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਨਲੇਵਾ ਬੀਮਾਰੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਸਿਰਫ ਦੋ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਹੀ ਬਚੇ ਹਨ।

ਕੀ ਇਹ ਸੰਭਵ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੇਕਰ ਉਹ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ/ਪਾਠ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਆਦਿ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਸਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਘੱਟ ਹੋਵੇ ਪਰ ਲੰਮੀ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ?

    1. ਵੀਰ ਜੀ, ਨਾਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਪੜ੍ਹਨ ਦੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲਤਾ ਕਰਨੀ ਜੀ। ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਜਨਮ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਮੌਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਸੰਭਵ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਪਾਠ/ਕੀਰਤਨ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਉਮਰ ਲੰਮੀ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਚੜ੍ਹਦੀ ਕਲ੍ਹਾ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਵਾਸ ਤਿਆਗੇ।

      ਵਡਹੰਸੁ ਮਃ ੫ ॥ ਤੂ ਜਾਣਾਇਹਿ ਤਾ ਕੋਈ ਜਾਣੈ ॥ ਤੇਰਾ ਦੀਆ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਖਾਣੈ ॥੧॥ ਤੂ ਅਚਰਜੁ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਬਿਸਮਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਤੁਧੁ ਆਪੇ ਕਾਰਣੁ ਆਪੇ ਕਰਣਾ ॥ ਹੁਕਮੇ ਜੰਮਣੁ ਹੁਕਮੇ ਮਰਣਾ ॥੨॥ ਨਾਮੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਆਧਾਰੀ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸੁ ਬਖਸੀਸ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ॥੩॥੮॥ {ਪੰਨਾ 563-564}
      ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਕਰ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹਸਤੀ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈਂ। ਤੇਰੀ ਰਚੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਭੀ ਹੈਰਾਨਗੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ।

      ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਸੂਝ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਕੋਈ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਪਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਤੇਰਾ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਉਚਾਰਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।

      ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਜਗਤ-ਰਚਨਾ ਦਾ) ਵਸੀਲਾ (ਬਣਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ) ਹੈਂ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜਗਤ ਹੈਂ (ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਜਗਤ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਸਰੂਪ ਹੈ) । ਤੇਰੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦਾ) ਜਨਮ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇਰੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਮੌਤ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ।੨।

      ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਦਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਆਖ-ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼) ਤੇਰਾ ਦਾਸ ਤੇਰੀ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ (ਦਾ ਆਸਵੰਦ ਹੈ) ।੩।੮।

    2. Scholar

      The ritual Simran or Path may not serve your purpose. Such formalities does give some mental satisfaction.
      However, the mental state and will power can be improved only by understanding and following Gurbani written in Guru Granth Sahib. This can help the person to develop confidence in his mind for fighting the disease.
      Our own physical and mental actions are responsible for our diseases and cure.

      ਦੂਖ ਰੋਗ ਸੰਤਾਪ ਉਤਰੇ ਸੁਣੀ ਸਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ
      Physical and Mental Suffering, disease and anguish can be abridged by listening to True Gurbani
      This Shabad clearly defines that Gurbani can be reduce the physical and mental suffering provided we listen to the True Gurbani
      Just by reading this sentence is not going to help. We have to make Gurbani as a part and parcel of our practical life.
      We should also study and understand the guidelines given in the earlier 39 Pauries of Anand Sahib.
      ਹੁਕਮੁ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ ਬਹੁਤਾ ਰੋਵੈ ॥ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਧੋਖਾ ਨੀਦ ਨ ਸੋਵੈ ॥
      Any one who does not try to understand the Hukam of the Akal Purkh according to which the whole universe is running both at mental level and physical level, keeps on suffering in his life. Such a person remains in the illusion and does not lead a comfortable and peaceful life.
      Hukam operating at mental level can be understood with the help of Guru Granth Sahib.
      Hukam operating at physical level can be understood with the help of Science and other fields.

      Person is supposed to be alert all the time for any type of odds. We should analyse the situation well in advance and act accordingly.
      ਪਹਿਲਾ ਵਸਤੁ ਸਿਞਾਣਿ ਕੈ ਤਾਂ ਕੀਚੈ ਵਾਪਾਰੁ ॥ 1410
      Counter action can be taken accordingly, so that similar situation does not arise in the future.
      Gurbani teaches us to solve our own problems.
      ਆਪਣ ਹਥੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਕਾਜੁ ਸਵਾਰੀਐ ॥੨੦॥ – 474
      This is all is happening because of lack of knowledge, proper education, ego and selfish interest.
      We have stopped following the teachings of Gurbani written in Guru Granth Sahib. We feel happy by performing some rituals.
      ਸਿਰੀਰਾਗੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਮੁਸਕਲੁ ਅਤਿ ਬਣੈ ਢੋਈ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਦੇਇ ॥ ਲਾਗੂ ਹੋਏ ਦੁਸਮਨਾ ਸਾਕ ਭਿ ਭਜਿ ਖਲੇ ॥ ਸਭੋ ਭਜੈ ਆਸਰਾ ਚੁਕੈ ਸਭੁ ਅਸਰਾਉ ॥ ਚਿਤਿ ਆਵੈ ਓਸੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਲਗੈ ਨ ਤਤੀ ਵਾਉ ॥ ੧ ॥ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਨਿਤਾਣਿਆ ਕਾ ਤਾਣੁ ॥ ਆਇ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਥਿਰੁ ਸਦਾ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਸਚੁ ਜਾਣੁ ॥੧ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਜੇ ਕੋ ਹੋਵੈ ਦੁਬਲਾ ਨੰਗ ਭੁਖ ਕੀ ਪੀਰ ॥ ਦਮੜਾ ਪਲੈ ਨਾ ਪਵੈ ਨਾ ਕੋ ਦੇਵੈ ਧੀਰ ॥ ਸੁਆਰਥੁ ਸੁਆਉ ਨ ਕੋ ਕਰੇ ਨਾ ਕਿਛੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਕਾਜੁ ॥ ਚਿਤਿ ਆਵੈ ਓਸੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਤਾ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਰਾਜੁ ॥ ੨ ॥ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਦੇਹੀ ਵਿਆਪੈ ਰੋਗੁ ॥ ਗ੍ਰਿਸਤਿ ਕੁਟੰਬਿ ਪਲੇਟਿਆ ਕਦੇ ਹਰਖੁ ਕਦੇ ਸੋਗੁ ॥ ਗਉਣੁ ਕਰੇ ਚਹੁ ਕੁੰਟ ਕਾ ਘੜੀ ਨ ਬੈਸਣੁ ਸੋਇ ॥ ਚਿਤਿ ਆਵੈ ਓਸੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਹੋਇ ॥ ੩ ॥ (੭੦)
