ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਜਪਿ ਗੁਰ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਈ ॥

ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਜਪਿ ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਭ’ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਸੋਈ ॥
ਜਾ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਇਆਂ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਬਾਹੁੜਿ ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥(617)
This holy word is recorded in Dhan Guru Granth Sahib Ji in Raag Sorath and is a composition of Guru Arjan Sahib Ji.
The word Gopal appears in it. Gopal means the one who nurtures the earth, the one who takes care of all living beings. Addressing the mind, the Guru Ji has explained that O my mind, chant the name of the Akal Purakh, by taking refuge in which everlasting bliss is attained. Now the implication is that whatever Akal Purakh has made the rules, the teachings are in Gurbani That is to understand and bring that teaching into your life, that is to come under the shelter of Akal Purakh. When we start living our life according to the teachings in Gurbani then we will always be in a state of spiritual bliss.

ਇਹ ਪਾਵਨ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਧੰਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਵਿਚ ਰਾਗ ਸੋਰਠਿ ਵਿਚ ਦਰਜ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਹੈ।ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ ਗੋਪਾਲ।
ਗੋਪਾਲ ਤੋਂ ਭਾਵ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਲਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਭਾਵ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ।
ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਿਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਸਮਝਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ, ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਆਉਣ ਨਾਲ ਸਦਾ ਸੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।ਹੁਣ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਭਾਵਅਰਥ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਵੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਨੇ ਨਿਯਮ ਬਣਾਏ ਹਨ, ਜੋ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ , ਉਸ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿਚ ਲਿਆਉਣਾ ਹੈ, ਇਹੋ ਹੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਉਣਾ ਹੈ। ਜਦੋਂ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਏ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਜੀਵਨ ਜੀਊਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਿਕ ਸੁਖ ਦੀ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਾਂਗੇ।
