ਜੇਕਰ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਜਾਂ ਸੁਣਨਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ

Normally a person, who cannot hear, is also not able to speak. Shabad does not mean that you have to speak or hear only. Shabad can be understood and followed with the help of others.
ਸਚੁ ਸਚਾ ਰਸੁ ਜਿਨੀ ਚਖਿਆ ਸੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਰਹੇ ਆਘਾਈ ॥ ਇਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਸੇਈ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਜਿਉ ਗੂੰਗੈ ਮਿਠਿਆਈ ਖਾਈ ॥ ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਵਜੀ ਵਾਧਾਈ ॥੧੮॥ (੩੧੦, ੩੧੧)
Though it is difficult, but learning is not impossible. For meeting the Akal Purkh, we have to adopt His qualities. The mode of leaning or understanding can be in any form.
