ਗੁਰੂ ਗਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿਚ ਅੰਕਿਤ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਨੇ, ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਵੀਚਾਰ ਕਰਨੀ, ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਮਝਣਾ ਤੇ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਤੇ ਰਜਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਚਲਣਾ, ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਲਿਆਂ ਵਲੋਂ ਸੁਚੇਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਬਿਬੇਕ ਬੁਧੀ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰਨੀ, ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਦੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਰੂਪੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਦ ਮਾਨਣਾ, ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਦਾ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਕਰਨਾ, ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਨੇ, ਮਨ ਤੇ ਕਾਬੂ ਕਰਨਾ ਤੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਖਿੰਡਣ ਤੋਂ ਰੋਕਣਾ, ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗਿਆਨ ਇੰਦਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਾਰਾ ਤੋਂ ਰੋਕਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਬਦ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਸੱਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਹੀ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।

What is the difference between the Hukam and Will of Akal Purakh?
ਆਮ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਬਾਰੇ ਇਹ ਹੀ ਸਮਝਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਕਿਸੇ ਬਜੁਰਗ, ਵੱਡੇ, ਮਾਲਕ, ਅਫਸਰ ਜਾਂ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਨੇ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਵੀ ਕੰਮ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੀ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਹੈ, ਪਰੰਤੂ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਦਾ ਸਬੰਧ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਦੇ ਨਿਯਮ, ਧਰਮ, ਅਸੂਲ ਜਾ ਸਿਸਟਮ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ
It is commonly understood (or mis-understood) that Hukam is similar to an order of someone holding an eminent position like an elder, teacher, manager, officer, owner, landlord, etc. However, Guru Granth Sahib considers the Hukam of Akal Purkh, related to laws of nature, religion, natural system, realities of universe, etc
ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਸੀਮਿਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ, ਨਿਯਮ, ਜਾਂ ਅਸੂਲ, ਕੁਦਰਤ ਅਤੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਪਹਿਲੂ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਨੇਕਤਾ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੁਕਮੁ, ਭੈ, ਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਵਰਤਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ
Hukam of Akal Purakh is not confined to a single word. Hukam is related with all aspects of life and nature, there is diversity in it.. In Guru Granth Sahib the word Hukam has been used as (ਭੈ) also
ਜੇ ਕਰ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਉਣਾਂ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਚਲਣਾ ਪਵੇਗਾ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਧੁਰ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਜੀਵ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ
If we want to become one with the Akal Purkh then, we need to act according to His Hukam and His Will, which is written with the creature from the very beginning.
ਹੁਕਮਿ ਰਜਾਈ ਚਲਣਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਨਾਲਿ
ਇਸ ਸਬਦ ਵਿਚ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ, ਦੋਹਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਚਲਣ ਦੀ ਸਿਖਿਆ ਦਿਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ
This Shabad teaches to follow both the Hukam and Will of Akal Purakh
ਗੁਰੂ ਗਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿਚ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਨਣ ਦੀ ਸਿਖਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਦਿਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਪਰੰਤੂ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਨਣ ਬਾਰੇ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਦੂਸਰੇ ਲਫਜਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਕਹਿ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਕਿ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਹੈ
Guru Granth Sahib teaches us to recognize the Hukam of Akal Purakh, but nothing is said about recognizing the Will of Akal Purakh. In other words we can say that the Will of Akal Purakh is beyond the reach of a human being
“ਹੁਕਮੁ ਪਛਾਨੈ ਸੁ ਏਕੋ ਜਾਨੈ ਬੰਦਾ ਕਹੀਐ ਸੋਈ”

ਜੇਕਰ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਤੇ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਸਮਝਣ ਦਾ ਯਤਨ ਕਰੀਏ ਤਾਂ ਕਹਿ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਕਿ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਣ ਦਾ ਯਤਨ ਤਾਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰੰਤੂ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਣਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਹੈ। ਉਦਾਹਰਣ ਦੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ: ਭੁਚਾਲ ਆਉਂਣੇ, ਜਾਂ ਕਰੋਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਬੀਮਾਰੀ, ਅੱਜ ਦੀ ਸਾਂਇੰਸ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਇਕ ਰਜਾ ਹੀ ਹਨ, ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਭਵਿੱਖ ਵਿਚ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਹੋਰ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਜਾਂ ਇਲਾਜ ਮਿਲ ਸਕੇ
If we try to understand Gurmat and Science together, we can say that a human being can try to understand the Hukam of Akal Purakh, but understanding the Raza is beyond the reach of a human being. For example: earthquakes, or Corona disease, are a disease according to today’s science, more information or treatment may be available in the future
ਜੰਮਣਾ ਤੇ ਮਰਣਾ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ ਇਸ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਆਉਂਣਾ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਚਲੇ ਜਾਣਾ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਦੇ ਭਾਣੈ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਨਣਾ ਹੈ, ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਦੀ ਰਜ਼ਾ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਦੇ ਭਾਣੈ ਨੂੰ ਸਵਿਕਾਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ
Birth and death are according to the Hukam of Akal Purakh. Coming into this world and leaving this world is according to the Will of Akal Purakh, nothing is in the hands of a human being. Therefore the Hukam of Akal Purakh is to be recognized, the Will of Akal Purakh is to be accepted.
