ਬੰਦੇ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਇਕਤੀਆਰ।। ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਰੋਸੁ ਧਰੳ ਕਿ ਪਿਆਰੁ।।(338)
ਭਾਵ ਹੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਤੂੰ ਖੁਦਾ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਰੱਖ।ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ।ਸ਼ਰਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ।

ਪ੍ਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਹਾਨ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।ਹੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਤੂੰ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹਿ।
ਕਰਿ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਛਾਡਿ ਮੈਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਰਿ ਸਵੇਰਾ।।(794)
ਭਾਵ ਹੇ ਭਾਈ ਮੈਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰ।ਦਿਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਦਾ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਖ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜਿੰਦਗੀ ਜੀ।

Meaning, O brother, I have forsaken me and remember God. Always remember Him in my heart and live with His virtues.

ਇਸ ਪੰਕਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਸਮਝਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਬਗਲਾ ਝੂਠੀ ਸਮਾਧੀ ਲਾਕੇ ਬੈਠਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਕਪਟ ਭਾਵ ਮਾਇਆ ਭਰੀ ਪਈ ਹੈ ਤਿਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਜੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਸਿਰਫ ਮਨ ਹਠ ਕਰਕੇ ਕੋਈ ਚੰਗਾ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਪਰ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਕੁੱਝ ਹੋਰ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਐਸੀ ਘਾਲਣਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।

ਭਾਵ ਕਿ ਅਸਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਰੂ ਵਾਲੇ ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਬਣਿਆ ਜਾਣੋ ਜਦੋਂ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਮੋਹ ਦੀ ਪਕੜ ਖਤਮ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ।ਪਕੜ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਚੀਜ਼ ਦੀ ਹੈ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਝੂਠ ਬੋਲਣ ਦੀ ਪਕੜ, ਬੇਈਮਾਨ ਕਰਨੀ ਆਦਿ।ਜਦੋਂ ਮੋਹ ਦੀ ਪਕੜ ਖਤਮ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਤਾਂ ਉਦੋਂ ਤਨ ਦੇ ਕਲੇਸ਼ , ਗਲਤ ਪਾਸੇ ਵੱਲ ਧਿਆਨ ਉਹ ਵੀ ਖਤਮ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਦੋਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਣ ਗਏ ਭਾਵ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਦੱਸੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਜੀਊਣਾ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਅਤੇ ਗਮੀ ਦੀ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਤੋਂ ਉਪਰ ਉਠ ਜਾਈਦਾ ਹੈ।ਇਸ ਦਾ ਮਤਲਬ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਸਿਰਫ ਆਪਣੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਖੁਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸਗੋਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਤਰੱਕੀ ਤੇ ਵੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਕਿਸੇ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਦਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿੱਥੇ ਮੈਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਛੱਡਕੇ ਸਭ ਵਿਚ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦੀ ਜੋਤ ਨਜਰ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ।ਉਹ ਹੈ ਗੁਰੂ ਵਾਲਾ ਬਣਨਾ।

ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਭਾਵ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।ਅੱਜ ਤੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੁਗਾਂ ਜੁਗਾਂਤਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਚਲਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਨਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਖਤਮ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਦਾਤ ਮੁੱਕਦੀ ਹੈ।ਦੂਸਰੇ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਖਜਾਨਾ ਵੰਡ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਗੁਣ ਹਨ ਸੱਚ, ਸਬਰ, ਸੰਤੋਖ, ਧੀਰਜ, ਨਿਮਰਤਾ। ਪਰ ਅਸੀਂ ਇਹ ਦਾਤ ਲੈਣ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਰ ਨਹੀਂ। ਅਸੀਂ ਥੱਕੇ ਪਏ ਹਨ। ਪ੍ਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤਾਂ ਸਭ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਖਸ਼ਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਬਖਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਕਦੇ ਥੱਕਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਰ ਅਸੀਂ ਥੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਾਂ।

The Maryada of langar means that all the sangats who come to Gurdwara Sahib to fulfill their spiritual needs through the Shabad of Guru. No one in need should go hungry from the gurdwara. While eating the langar we all sit in the same pangat which means everyone is the same here, there is no caste system here, no one is above anyone, all our same, Guru Sahib has taught us this.
ਘਾਲਿ ਖਾਇ ਕਿਛੂ ਹਥਹੁ ਦੇਇ।।
ਨਾਨਕ ਰਾਹੁ ਪਛਾਣਹਿ ਸੇਇ।।(1245)
That means you work honestly, eat to your heart’s content and serve the needy.

ਪੇਟ ਦੀ ਤਿ੍ਪਤੀ ਲੰਗਰ ਛਕਕੇ ਪੂਰੀ ਹੋਏ।ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਲੋੜਵੰਦ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰੇ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਭੁੱਖਾ ਨਾ ਜਾਵੇ।ਦੂਸਰਾ ਲੰਗਰ ਛਕਣ ਲੱਗਿਆਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਸਭ ਇੱਕ ਹੀ ਪੰਗਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੈਠਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਮਤਲਬ ਹੈ ਇਥੇ ਸਭ ਇੱਕ ਸਮਾਨ ਹਨ।ਕੋਈ ਅਮੀਰ ਗਰੀਬ, ਜਾਤ ਪਾਤ ,ਮਰਦ ਔਰਤ ,ਉਚਾ ਨੀਵਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ। ਸਭ ਇੱਕ ਸਮਾਨ ਹਨ।ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਘਾਲਿ ਖਾਇ ਕਿਛੂ ਹਥਹੁ ਦੇਇ।।
ਨਾਨਕ ਰਾਹੁ ਪਛਾਣਹਿ ਸੇਇ।।(1245)
ਭਾਵ ਕਿ ਆਪ ਇਮਾਨਦਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਤ ਕਰੋ, ਰੱਜਕੇ ਖਾਉ ਅਤੇ ਲੋੜਵੰਦਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੋ।
