ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ਆਰਤੀ
ਇਹ ਸਿਰਲੇਖ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਪੰਨਾ ਨੰਬਰ 663(੬੬੩) ਤੇ ਦਰਜ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਰਾਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਧੰਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਹੈ।
ਗਗਨ ਮੈ ਥਾਲੁ ਰਵਿ ਚੰਦੁ ਦੀਪਕ ਬਨੇ ਤਾਰਿਕਾ ਮੰਡਲ ਜਨਕ ਮੋਤੀ ॥
ਵੈਸੇ ਤਾਂ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਮੂਰਤੀ ਅੱਗੇ ਦੀਵੇ ਘੁਮਾਕੇ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਰਤੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।ਇੱਕ ਥਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੀਵੇ ਜਗਾਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਧੂਫਾਂ , ਸੁਗੰਧੀਆਂ ਰੱਖਕੇ ਮੂਰਤੀ ਅੱਗੇ 4 ਵਾਰੀ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ, 2 ਵਾਰੀ ਨਾਭੀ ਅੱਗੇ ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰੀ ਮੂੰਹ ਅੱਗੇ , 7 ਵਾਰੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਉਤੇ ਦੀਵੇ ਘੁਮਾਉਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਧੰਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਆਰਤੀ ਦਾ ਖੰਡਨ ਕਰਕੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਆਰਤੀ ਤਾਂ ਕੁਦਰਤੀ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਅਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਕਾਦਰ ਦੀ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਆਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਕੇ ਅਨੰਦਿਤ ਹੋਣਾ ਹੈ।ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਇੱਕ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਵਰਤ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਸਾਰੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਰਤੀ ਸਿਰਲੇਖ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਸਿਰਫ ਇਹੋ ਇੱਕ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਹੈ।ਬਾਕੀ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਰਤੀ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਜਰੂਰ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਆਰਤੀ ਸਿਰਲੇਖ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਸਿਰਫ ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਰਾਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹੋ ਇੱਕ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਹੈ।

This title is recorded on page number 663 (੬੬੩) of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and is a composition of Dhan Guru Nanak Sahib Ji in Dhanasari Raag.
ਗਗਨ ਮੈ ਥਾਲੁ ਰਵਿ ਚੰਦੁ ਦੀਪਕ ਬਨੇ ਤਾਰਿਕਾ ਮੰਡਲ ਜਨਕ ਮੋਤੀ ॥
By the way, worshiping the gods by moving the plate/lamp (diva) in a clockwise rotation in front of the idol is called Aarti. A lamp/Diva is lit in a plate and other incense sticks is placed in front of the idol and the plate is rotated in a clockwise rotation 4 times in front of the feet, 2 times in front of the navel, 1 time in front of the mouth and 7 times on the whole body.
Dhan Guru Nanak Sahib Ji refuted this Aarti and taught the whole world that the Aarti of God is happening naturally by itself and we have to rejoice to see the Aarti of that Kadar/Parmaatma happening. The light of the same Parmaatma is working in all living beings.
There is only one shabad under the title Aarti in all of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. The word Aarti is definitely mentioned in the rest of the Shabads but it is the only shabad in the Dhanasari Raag under the title Aarti.
